At Meadow View Farm School, we provide a nurturing, highly specialised learning environment where children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, predominantly Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, can flourish.

Nestled in the Leicestershire countryside, our unique provision combines high-quality, ambitious education with exceptional pastoral care, therapeutic support, outdoor learning and our onsite farm. Every pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and our highly personalised approach ensures that children feel safe, understood, valued and ready to learn.

For many of our pupils, joining MVFS represents a fresh start. We take time to understand each child's experiences, strengths, needs and barriers to learning. Exceptional 

With small class sizes, dedicated staff, and a curriculum built around individual strengths and needs, we prioritise academic progress, personal development, and emotional well-being. Our pupils benefit from:

• High-quality phonics and literacy teaching, with books carefully selected to match pupils’ learning needs.
• A rich and varied curriculum, ensuring that no child misses out on “typical primary school experiences” like swimming lessons, educational trips, and residential visits.
• Expertly planned outdoor and farm-based learning, where pupils connect classroom knowledge to real-life experiences.

Personal Development 

Supporting children to develop the skills they need for life is fundamental to everything we do.

Our January 2026 Ofsted inspection stated:

Alongside our carefully planned whole-school programme, every pupil receives personalised opportunities based on their individual needs and experiences.

Children learn about personal safety, safe relationships, managing online risks, emotions, diversity, equality, different faiths and cultures, democracy and fundamental British values.

Central to this is our Network of Safety, which helps pupils identify the key adults and agencies they can turn to if they have a concern.

A Community Built on Care, Respect, High Expectations and Belonging

Relationships are central to the success of MVFS.

We work closely with families, professionals and external services to develop a rounded understanding of each pupil and provide consistent, joined-up support.

Ofsted recognised that pupils feel welcome and experience levels of care that “go above and beyond.”

Children learn to recognise their own feelings while also seeing the world through the eyes of others. They learn about differences between people, explore other faiths and cultures, understand democracy in action and recognise that everyone deserves to be treated fairly and equally.

Our pupils become increasingly confident, resilient and independent. They learn to manage challenges, develop positive relationships and participate successfully in school life.

Outdoor Learning at the Heart of MVFS

Our farm and outdoor environment are much more than an addition to our curriculum – they are an integral part of life at Meadow View Farm School.

Pupils take an active role in maintaining our onsite farm and caring for our animals. These meaningful responsibilities help children develop confidence, resilience, independence, teamwork and a sense of pride.

Our outdoor provision also gives pupils opportunities to challenge themselves safely, experience success and develop skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Ofsted highlighted the importance of this distinctive part of our provision:
